Connect any TR-069 device to FreeACS
Updated
Every TR-069 device has the same handful of settings, under names like TR-069, CWMP, Remote Management or ACS. Copy the values from your FreeACS dashboard.
Steps
-
1
Sign in to FreeACS and open the Dashboard. Keep the ACS URL, Username and Password in view.
-
2
Open the device’s web interface (or your OLT or provisioning profile) and find the TR-069, CWMP or ACS settings.
-
3
Turn TR-069 on. Set ACS URL to https://acs.freeacs.net/ (or http://acs.freeacs.net/ for firmware with an old TLS stack).
-
4
Set ACS Username and ACS Password to the values on your dashboard.
-
5
Turn on Periodic Inform. Any interval works; FreeACS moves the device to 15 minutes on first contact.
-
6
Leave the Connection Request username and password as they are. FreeACS sets its own.
-
7
Save. Most devices send an Inform straight away, and the device appears under Devices within a minute.
If it does not appear
- Nothing appears: check the device can reach acs.freeacs.net on port 443 (or 80 for http://) and that TR-069 is enabled.
- The device log shows 401: the username or password is wrong. Copy them again from the dashboard.
- Certificate or TLS errors: switch to the http:// ACS URL. Digest authentication still protects the password.
- The device appears but WiFi changes fail: refresh it once, so FreeACS learns its data model and radios.
