Connect a Huawei ONT (EchoLife HG8245H, HG8546M, EG8145V5) to FreeACS

Huawei EchoLife ONTs ship with a TR-069 client. Menu names vary by firmware and by the ISP’s customisation.
Steps

Sign in to the ONT web interface with an administrator account (the ISP-level account, not the subscriber one).

Open the TR-069 page. On most EchoLife firmware it is under System Tools, or Advanced Configuration and then Remote Management.

Enable TR-069 (sometimes labelled Periodic Inform and ACS).

Set the ACS URL to https://acs.freeacs.net/, or http://acs.freeacs.net/ if the ONT reports certificate errors.

Set the ACS user name and password to the values on your FreeACS dashboard.

Enable periodic inform. FreeACS sets the interval to 15 minutes on first contact; Huawei ships with 12 hours.

Apply, then check Devices in FreeACS.
If it does not appear
- For many ONTs, set the ACS in a TR-069 server profile on the OLT and bind it to the ONT line profile, so every ONT registers on its own without a site visit.
- Some ISP-customised firmware hides the TR-069 page from the subscriber account; use the ISP administrator account.
- If the ONT keeps its old ACS after saving, reboot it once.
